With the new armor, which will reign supreme?
So, you got the new armor in factions comming out, sentinal's, legionair, and berserker. Sentinal armor gives you 100 armor always (at 13 str), legionair gives you 80 armor, 20 vs phys, 20 in stance. Berserker gives you 80 armor, 20 vs phys, and + health. Which one of these will be the best, or rather, would a set of armor from CH1 be better?
Gladiator armor, IMO, still is the best. The extra boost of energy from the gladiator armor is very useful, considering we warriors do not have the best amount of energy compared to the rest of the classes. Also, gladiator armor is much more versatile. Great for running, pve, pvp, because of its good armor for tanking, and its energy surplus.
The new armor seems very keyed to tactics or strength, except for the berserker armor. If you got yourself sentinal armor, and decide you want to go tactics for something like an ORO run, you pretty much have useless armor. Legionair armor is more for tactics because of its stance, and we all know tactics is where pretty much all warrior stances are from. The berserker armor is very much like gladiator, only have a health bonus instead of energy.
Hence, in my opinion, gladiator armor is still the best, although, I could see myself picking up some legionair armor for some oro runs.
What is your opinion?

+1 helm, gladiator armor, ascalon/knight booties!
Guess this means it is time to start gathering up supplies for FOW armor.

I think the 13 Strength is worth the +20 armor; since Warriors don't really need that much energy anymore.

I would have said Legionares, seeing how Frenzy/Flurry/Tiger'sFury are very common...but to be honest, who ever attacks a warrior? +Energy is going to be hard to dethrone.
Also since the new armor for other classes is Local rather than global, it seems to me that knights would follow as a fix. But then again they haven't fixed it yet.

Standard armor: Gladiator's, boosting max energy on a Warrior is almost always useful.
Armors for switching: Berserker for the +health against spike and degen. Legionnaire's for armor because a Warrior is almost always in a stance.
Sentinel's would only be more useful where stance breakers like Wild Blow are common and you really, really need +20 versus elements. As you don't generally deal with stance breakers and elemental damage at the same time, it's not worth going 13 Strength to use this.

Sentinel armor is pretty pimp but that 13 strength is a monster. I mean otherwise it's just 80 AL and I can get that and still put my skill points in more worthwhile attributes. I didn' really think much of it till I got to the endgame and well yeah strength kind of sucks. It has a few useful skills but not like tactics. I think a lot of it is going to depend on how many of the new skills are related to strength and how useful those skills actually are.
Personally I think I'll stick to my Glads/Knights combo.

If for whatever reason you aren't running anything other than weapon mastery and strength, and the character is not particularly energy intensive, Sentinels is definately a good choice.
Otherwise; what Savio said.

i buy armor strictly for its appearance. They are all fairly equal to me when it comes to usefulness
I'll be moving to Sentinel armor for everyday use, but I'll keep my current set of Gladiator+Knight as well.

I'll be switching to Legionnaire's after Factions, but my warrior is also a PvE guy, so his tanking ability actually comes into play.

I REALLY hope that that isn't all the warrior armor in Factions. I'd like to maybe see them have some new Glad's Armor, with the added energy that the Drok's Glad's Armor has; otherwise, I wouldnt want to switch. It's like penalizing my char (Warrior/Elementalist), especially since I like using some high energy skills. If I upgrade, I lose about +8 energy, and I lose about 4-5 skills I really like to use...

Well if I ever get hold of enough gold to get rid of my damn platemail (Waste of gold) Im gettin my grotto glads with ascalon helm ^_^ but it always seems that I need gold for something. Anyway I think that glads will definately be the best still with the addition of Dam Reduce Helm. When I think of it I think that Dam Reduction is better than extra health any day. As for the topic of sentinal armor I like the idea of 100 armor but 13 strength is rediculous. Seriously its a waste of att points unless anet releases more skills for strength that become more useful for pve. The only reason I have anything on strength is cuz of my plate and the fact that my shadow shield req 10 strength -4dam reduce (16 chance) takes it and because I now have all 200 att points instead of the 170 you get with lvl 20. and as a sword warrior most of the time with a necromancer secondary I really crave that extra energy and reduce. Well thats my opinion and I cant wait to hear your response to it

Sentinels will be awesome. I will love it to death. (in combo with dolyaks etc. ultimate armor combo.) I hate the helm though. So no helm.

Glads in PvP will still be there, yes switching can be done against spikes, but for the most part the energy is definitly a bonus the way a warrior operates.

Gladiator armor will always be the best and everyone knows that. With the sentinel armor tho...Hammer Warriors in like GvG could take lots of damage and still be alive. So im wondering if there might be more hammer warriors in GvG When sentinel armor comes out.
